إليه أسير ومنه أفر
towards Him I'm walking yet He is the one I'm trying to escape
بوزر ثقيل وزاد قليل
while carrying heavy load of sins and very few supplies

ضللت كثيرا بهذا السفر
I've strayed away many times in this journey
وأستوهب الله قصد السبيل
and I'm begging Allah to gift me with guidance

أعيش حياتي برغم الكدر
I'm living my life despite all the mishaps
بقلب عليل وعقل كليل
with a diseased heart and an exhausted mind

فأشقى كثيرا وحينا أسر
I go through constant misery and occasional happiness
فحمدا لربي وصبر جميل
but I'm grateful to my Lord and sticking to beautiful patience

وفيه رجائي كقطر المطر
because in Him, I have an unending hope.. like the rain drops
هو الله حسبي ونعم الوكيل
as He is Allah, enough for me and the best of trustees
